Lion Brand Crochet Along!

I'll be participating in Lion Brand's latest CAL. . . The Motif Afghan Crochet-Along.

The design is from Edie Eckman and is featured in her book Beyond-the-Square Crochet Motifs and I am very much looking forward to it!

Here is the colorway I've chosen for the project:

The Afore Mentioned Update

We had a great summer, all one month of it.  Seriously, what was up with summer this year?  At least here in Colorado it was almost non-existent.  We are up and running with our cyberschooling again (grades 4, 3 and K) and all is going well there.

Sweeper Sweaters continue to be my best seller in the shop , even when orders slow to a trickle.

So. . . . here's a little test to see if anyone cares is reading:

  • If I were to create a new crochet creature what should it be?  An animal?  A person?  A life size version of the Taj Mahal?
Let me know what you think!

Seriously?

Wow!

I'm not sure what else to say.

Really?!  My last post was in March?!

Wow!

I promise to do better.  I'll go work on an update post now.

Chooks!

You can call me Chicken Mama!  These 6 lovely little ladies joined our family this past weekend!

2 Buff Orpingtons
2 Barred Rock
2 Red Star

We will pick up 4 Easter Eggers tomorrow to join our little flock!

To celebrate the new additions {and to help pay for feed ;) } I've lowered the price for the below mention Sisterhood Dolls!  They are now $75 for Sisterhood members and $100 for non-members!  Great for Easter!

Sisterhood Dolls

I would like to introduce you all to the newest members of The Gypsy's Daughter family...Sisterhood Dolls!  If you've found us through the
MaryJane's Farm message boards then you already know about the Sisterhood (and if you haven't been to MaryJanes Farm, what are you waiting for?!  Go, now!).

These limited edition dolls are hand crocheted by me and the brain child of my wonderful husband.  Each doll is complete with removable sun hat, shoes, overalls and smocked crochet apron (sleeves and pant legs can easily roll up and down). Underneath she wears some Farmgirl knickers complete with ruffles at the calf.  Each Sister sports a kindly smile and has a healthy glow to her cheeks.  When you order one of the Sisters you get to choose your hair color (blond, brunette or redhead) apron trim color and a special extra (Hazel Hen, a veggie basket or fruit pie) for her to bring along.  MJF Farmgirl Sisterhood members can have an embroidered patch with their Sisterhood # attached to the overalls.  She also comes with a personalized Certificate of Authenticity.

The dolls measure approx. 13.5 inches tall and 8 inches from hand to hand.  They are crocheted with Caron Simply Soft Eco yarn which is very soft and has great color.  The Eco yarn contains 20% NatureSpun, "a high-quality polyester fiber made from 100% post-consumer recycled plastic bottles".  Which means your new Sisterhood Doll saves at least 2 plastic bottles from the landfill!  Her hat is made from a recycled cotton yarn and her veggie basket is made from hemp twine.  Each doll has vintage buttons on her overalls and comes to her new home wrapped in a lovely vintage apron for you!

Approx. 30-40 hours worth of work go into each doll and no two are exactly the same.  If you would like to be put on the waiting list for purchasing your individualized Sisterhood Doll you may leave a comment here,  convo me through my etsy shop, or email me through MJF's message boards (TheresaB).  The cost for Sisterhood members is $75 and non-Sisterhood members pay $100.  (Don't forget this also includes a lovely vintage apron for you!)

Orders will be filled on a first come, first serve basis.  When I get to your name on the list I will contact you for your preferences.  These custom orders will then be listed in my etsy shop.  The first ten buyers will also receive free shipping.  I have tons more pictures available on request.
